As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for driving innovative design solutions across our diverse client base. We're looking for a creative visionary who can inspire and mentor our existing team, while also scaling our design capabilities to support our ambitious growth goals.

About the role and the day to day.

Your days will be a mix of; leading the Design team, building strong relationships with clients and cross functional teams, creating great designs (more UI than UX) and contributing to the growth and success of Honest Fox. 

Working alongside the head of; Strategy, CX and Technology you will set the design direction that will contribute to producing award winning work. You will be involved in the pitching process and be responsible for driving excellence and efficiency within the Design team.

What is expected for this role: 

• You help craft the design direction, vision and goals for multiple projects/clients at once  (our current clients include Asahi, Lifestyle Communities, Altius Health)

• Leading the design team to constantly improve

• Help the agency strive for more local and international awards (alongside the head of; strategy, CX and technology)

• You will be expected to still be on the tools and craft designs (More UI than UX)

• Work on new pitches alongside senior team members 

• Foster stronger client relationships with clients 

• You strive for operational excellence and look for business efficiencies

Must haves for this role: 

• Ideally 10+ years of experience and a strong folio of digital work, websites and product design  (More UI than UX/CX)

• An expert level of understanding of Figma/Sketch (or similar) 

• Proven track record of leading/growing teams in an agency or similar environment (including onboarding new talent)

• You've developed and implemented design strategies aligned with business objectives 

• You understand business operations, including budgeting, team utilisation, and financial performance

• A strong understanding of agile principles

• Relevant certifications or training in user-centred design

• You must have a valid working visa and rights to work in Australia

• Must be Melbourne-based, no exceptions (hybrid role)
